About Course

Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software that is a great next step for editors looking for more powerful tools to create high-quality video content. Adobe Premiere Pro is used by hobbyists and prosumers all the way up to professionals in the film and TV industry.

While powerful, it can also be a bit overwhelming at first which is where this course comes in. Your guide to Premiere Pro, Joel, has over a decade of experience in videography having worked for professionals marketing their business, influencers establishing their brand on social media, YouTubers growing their subscribers, and much more. In 2016, he even won a Disney-sponsored Star Wars short film contest. More recently, he has been loving the opportunity to teach students video production software.

The course is intended for beginners and will take you to an intermediate proficiency in Premiere Pro. Towards the end, the course will also introduce some advanced skills. Be sure to check out the course topics below. By the end of the course, you will feel comfortable navigating Premiere’s interface and be ready to make your very own videos. If you still need guidance, you can contact Joel and he would happy to work with you on an individual basis.

Welcome to Premiere Pro
We cover setting up a new folder for your save files, starting a new project, and how to import media into Premiere Pro. We also talk about the very important subject of "sequences".

Cutting and Trimming
This is the bread and butter of editing. We cover the difference between trimming and cutting, the Selection tool, the Razor tool, and a few tips for navigating the timeline.

Transitions
We cover how to add, adjust, and troubleshoot transitions. The tutorial is broken up into two parts. Part one covers video transitions and part two covers audio transitions.

Text and Titles
We cover how to create text and titles with the Type tool, the Essential Graphics panel, and how to use .mogrts.

Audio Editing
We cover the super handy skill of reading a waveform and using it to edit faster.

Introduction to Keyframes
We cover a super brief history of animation and talk all about keyframes. This tutorial is a bit longer and can get heady so strap in. But if you've ever had an interest in learning to animate this is a good place to start.

Introduction to Color Editing
We end with color editing. We cover the Lumetri Color panel to do basic correction and add creative looks to your footage.
